Discover Vestaburg: Small-Town Heart, Global Impact

Located in the northeast corner of Montcalm County within Richland Township, Vestaburg is a community that perfectly balances its peaceful, rural character with a surprising global reach. Known for its strong school spirit and its deep roots in the Michigan agricultural industry, Vestaburg is a true hidden gem of the region.

A Brief History of Vestaburg

Vestaburg was founded in 1874 by George W. O’Donnell, who named the settlement after his wife, Vesta Burgess O’Donnell. Like many Montcalm towns, it began as a booming lumber and railroad stop on the Pere Marquette line.

Interestingly, Vestaburg later became known as “Silo City USA” due to its prolific production of farm silos during the mid-20th century. Today, that legacy of agricultural innovation continues, as Vestaburg is home to world-class manufacturing that serves farmers across the globe.
